The Toy Box

Welcome to our toy box... or in some cases a toy bag. This page will show you some of the basic types of toys that you will find most commonly used in BD/SM play. Never attempt to use any of these toys unless you have been shown the proper way to use them by someone who is experienced with how they work. We suggest you visit the web sites below to see more of a selection once you know the basics.

Wooden Paddles - Probably one of the oldest BD/SM toys. These produce mild to heavy sensations that are range from "stingy" with thin paddles to "thuddy" with thicker paddles. Thicker paddles must be used carefully as they can inflict deep muscular damage if used to hard. Usually, wooden paddles are an "acquired taste" for most subs. They come in many shapes, sizes, thicknesses, and types of wood. Some paddles have holes in the "blade" section which causes the impact of the paddle to increase.
Leather Paddles - Leather paddles are used the same as wooden paddles, but are designed to provide a stingy sensation rather than a deep impact. They will cause redness and welts instead. They come in various shapes and sizes and can be adorned with studs or holes.
Leather or Rubber Slappers -These toys are designed to leave a very stingy impact welt, but no deep impact damage. They come in many shapes and sizes, with some designed to leave readable imprints via red marks.
Floggers -Another of the oldest toys, and probably most well known. Floggers can be constructed with all types of leather, rubber, hair, rubber, and fur. Each of these produce a different sensation from "mild to wild". Leather floggers typically only redden the skin and leave no impact welts. Rubber floggers however, leave impact welts due to the stiffness of the material.
Quirts - Quirts are a miniature version of Cat-o-Nine tails. Because of their smaller size, they can leave a stingy mark, but usually do not welt the skin. This is an excellent choice for the newcomer looking to experience what a Cat can feel like.
Cat-o-Nines -These can be some of the most vicious impact welt toys around. They typically have from 3 to 9 falls (tails) and can be made from leather or rubber. The sensation is like having several single-tail whips impact simultaneously. They will have knotted or tasseled ends designed to leave impact welts. They usually have quite a sting and bite to them in a master's hands. Cats are a variation of the flogger and has a long history in corporal punishment.
Single-Tail Whip -Another of the oldest toys, although it wasn't always a toy and was used mainly for severe punishment. Using a single-tail requires a technique that takes time to master. A single-tail will leave a welty impact point with lots of sting, but does no deep muscular damage. Although care must be taken to not lay skin open with too vicious a hit.
Canes - Canes are a tool that takes time to master for their full effect. A cane can provide a very painful experience, or in the hands of someone who knows how to use them, a massaging effect. A cane is usually a thin, round piece of wood, rattan, bamboo, fiberglass, or delrin with a handle on the end. Because of the small area impacting the skin, they will provide an extreme sting and large welt. They can also do minor deep impact damage if impacted hard enough.
Restraints -There is no end to the number of different styles of restraints. You pick them as a matter of personal preference and functionality for the type of bondage being performed. Typically, there are leather restraints for wrists and ankles in either normal or suspension style. Rope qualifies as a restraint, so does handcuffs. To find out more about restraints, we recommend doing an Internet search on them, visit the store and manufacturer websites until you find some that strike your fancy.
Gags and Blindfolds - Well... pretty much self explanatory. There are many types of gags from underwear to full harness training gags. The most popular though are ball gags and bit gags. Shown here are two examples of ball gags.

Collars and Leashes -These items are important in the lifestyle as they signify submission and/or ownership. Many times, Dom/me's will decorate collars to symbolize that it is theirs.
  CBT Toys
Other Fun Stuff - First, there are nipple clamps. These are pretty much what they sound like. However, they can be adapted for use on other parts of the body. One of the widest used clamps is... the clothespin... believe it or not.  Other toys that provide a variety of sensations are a Whartenburg Wheel, hairbrush, textured gloves, massagers, "choker" harnesses, combination harnesses, etc. Anything that will give a pleasurable, or slightly painful sensation is good for the toy bag.
