So... What's Next For You

So now that you've read over this web site and possibly attended a munch or had contact with a member of PLAN, what’s next is up to you. If you feel that this isn't for you, then we enjoyed meeting you. However, you probably liked some aspect of this lifestyle or you wouldn’t have looked into the Pittsburgh area D/s community anyhow. Remember that one visit to one munch, one workshop, one fetish night, or one dungeon does not give you enough experience to fully evaluate your interest. We recommend that you attend several different munches and talk with people involved in the community to see if this lifestyle is right for you. By that time, you'll have a good understanding of what the lifestyle involves, and whether it's right for you.

One question that perhaps we haven't answered clearly until now is; Why is this called a lifestyle? The answer is simple, once you've taken the steps into the lifestyle, you'll end up living the rest of your life learning more and more about yourself, your partner, and the world of D/s. It is a style to pattern for living your life. There are so many facets and little nuances about the dynamics of D/s, it does take many years to understand them and how they will ultimately affect you. And remember, you're an individual and your preferences, likes, dislikes, and depth into the lifestyle are unique to you. Hopefully, what you learn will effect you all in positive and beneficial ways.
You will make many new and wonderful friends along the way as well. The D/s community is full of people who are just like you... they were once newcomers themselves. And most enjoy helping another newcomer along by answering questions, or showing how a toy works, or simply listening because your unsure or confused on an issue. They will be able to point you in directions that you never knew existed that will hold some new learning or event for you to experience. One of the best benefits of the lifestyle is the closeness that the D/s community has to offer.
So, what is next for you? Quite alot. New friends, better relationships, lifelong learning... but perhaps the best part is a better understanding of yourself. You'll learn to accept yourself and be calm about your "quirks and kinks". You may even develop a deeper understanding of what makes you do some of the things you do that you've always taken for granted. You'll certainly look at all the relationships in your life with a new approach, one that may be filled with understanding allowing you to make those relationships better. If nothing else, you find that instead of your journey of self-discovery nearing an end, a whole new beginning will be unfolding in front of you.
