Am I A Freak ???
|
Or... I Think I Like This Stuff So Now
What
|
 |
|
For many people, the thought of D/s or BD/SM
immediately brings very kinky and erotic
images to the imagination. Yes, it can be
very kinky. But that is not what the
lifestyle is truly all about. We all live in
a D/s relationship every day of our lives.
Parents and children, bosses and employees,
president of a local club and the members,
our relationship with our significant other
are all examples of dominance and
submission. Nature is built around that very
principle... someone leads and someone
follows. Sound simple??? Well it isn't and
it's those dynamics that make life so
interesting to live. |
|
|
But what about all those erotic things I see
in movies and magazines??? Everyone thinks
I'm sick cause I love to watch someone's
butt get beaten with a whip. And those old
pirate movies with the flogging
scenes....they just make me so... well...
you know. <wink> Isn't that what D/s is all
about??? The answer to that question is
no... it just so happens that erotic thrills
of B&D and S&M fit very nicely with dynamics
of this lifestyle. But that doesn't mean
that every sexual encounter involves ropes
and whips and chains!! There are many people
who enjoy living in a D/s lifestyle
relationship that do not like B&D or S&M
play. There is a distinct seperation between
D/s, which by the way stands for
Dominance/submission, and the aspects of B&D
and S&M. Just to make things clear, B&D
stands for Bondage and Discipline while S&M
stands for Sadism and Masochism. The focus
of this site is on the D/s lifestyle. D/s is
about emotions and relationships. Most
people live in D/s relationships and never
know it. We call that the "vanilla" side of
D/s, it's a natural aspect of life that
people simply accept. The difference with
the D/s lifestyle is that the D/s part is
understood, nutured, and cherished. But,
sorry, there are no freaks... the lifestyle
is full of nice, normal, and sane people
that you see and work with everyday. |
|
The best way to sum up this lifestyle is
that it's an enhancement, sometimes an
exaggeration, of the natural aspects of
life. The major difference between "vanilla"
and the D/s lifestyle can be summed up in a
word... Acceptance. People within the
lifestyle have come to accept and cherish
their roles as a dominant or submissive
personality. Acceptance of a person's depth
into the lifestyle is at the very core of
this interesting and diverse community. This
lifestyle has many different levels of
intensity and there is a place for everyone.
So... no, your not a freak for enjoying the
intense sensations and heightened emotional
awareness lifestyle that the lifestyle
presents. In some ways, people in the
lifestyle are very fortunate since they will
learn more about themselves than the average
person does... it's the nature of the
lifestyle. |
|
So... now that you know maybe just a little
more than you did before you found this
site, do you still think your a freak? More
importantly... do you still think you like
"this stuff"? If you do, then read on. This
web site will attempt to give you the basics
about the inter-personal dynamics and play
that occurs that occur within a D/s
relationship and the D/s community as a
whole. Once you feel that you understand
what this is about, re-evaluate your
position. If you still have a curiosity or
have found your like of D/s or BD/SM
intensified... then it's time to do
something about it. Attend a local munch or
talk with someone if the lifestyle. Get to
know more about this new way of life from a
first-hand basis. Then stop and re-evaluate
your position again. And if you like what
you've heard or seen... then continue taking
steps into the lifestyle. You'll see this
wrote several times and it's very true...
take your time and learn, there is no need
to rush. You'll have the rest of your life
to discover all of your likes and hopefully
more about yourself than you ever thought
possible. |
